7 tips on how to start Lost Ark with the most straightforward class

You're here, meaning you've decided to start playing the ultra-popular Lost Ark game, and you need your first Lost Ark tips on making your life easier and more prolonged.

You've come to the right place as we're going to break down these Lost Ark classes and tell you which ones are best for beginners.

Now you can play any class you want and still excel at it, but some are better to start with or are much more effective in a newbie's hands. There are five playable classes in Lost Ark (Warrior, Martial Artist, Shooter, Mage, and Assassin), each divided into advanced classes.

  • Warrior: Berserker, Paladin, Marksman, Destroyer.
  • Martial Artist: Striker, Wardancer, Scrapper, Soulfist, Glaivier.
  • Gunner: Shooter, Artilleryman, Dead Eye, Sniper.
  • Mage: Bard, Sorceress
  • Assassin: Shadowhunter, Deathblade

These are all the classes/advanced classes we have for Europe and the US. The rest of the options are only available in Korea.

So, if you think you're ready to venture into the vast online world of Lost Ark and prove you're worth it, here's what you need to know before getting started.

1. Berserker is the most accessible class to start and play.

Warrior is worth picking if you're looking for a lightweight hero class that's easy to play and take down.

They are very hardy, and their simple abilities allow beginners to get comfortable in the game. While all three advanced warrior classes are fun to play, you should start with Berseker.

Berserker is a melee hero whose attacks deal AoE damage and are suitable for PvE and PvP.

Another interesting fact is that new players do not need to put extra effort into assembly and engraving at the beginning.

While they provide some much-needed enhancements, new players may take their time learning them because Berseker is relatively stable even without them.

All in all, an ideal class for beginner Lost Ark players. Try it and see how easy it is to defeat your enemies as a berserker.

2. If you're more into PvP, a bard would also be a great starting choice.

PvP for Lost Ark will open at level 26 in the main questline when you gain access to the Proving Grounds arena.

If you're not comfortable going head-to-head with other players, Bard can be a great first choice, thanks to her ability to support her team from a distance.

Provide your teammates with buffs like shields and damage reduction, and get them out of tight situations with the Personal Heal skill.

3. If you want to become a martial artist, choose Scrapper first.

Scrappers is an advanced martial arts class that you should know is highly recommended for beginners.

Of course, there are others, but the remaining advanced martial arts classes are not as accessible as the Scrapper.

If you decide to go for it, you will find that it offers two play styles. Complete beginners can go with taijutsu, and other players who are familiar with the game can try out percussive training.

4. Rookie Assassins Should Pick a Shadowhunter.

This unique character is something you should try to make your playthrough enjoyable.

As a martial artist, other advanced assassin classes are not as easy as this one. Shadowhunter is a good choice as you can experiment with ranged and melee attacks.

Even though some may argue about the difficulty of this advanced class, once you test it, you will see that it is straightforward to play.

5. If you're a little more defensively oriented, try Paladin first.

Want to tank and protect your team from damage? If yes, then Paladin is an advanced class you should try if you are thinking about warriors.

But don't be fooled by his large armor and passive demeanor, as these heroes can still dish out some pretty decent damage when needed.

It's also one of the few support classes in the game that provides cleaning supplies and shields to your colleagues, making it a great starting choice.

6. Avoid Assassin Classes If You're Bad at Positioning.

While Assassins are an excellent choice for bulk DPS and a great choice for PvP, you should stay away from them if positioning and map awareness isn't your forte.

They are fast, agile, and capable of delivering powerful finishing blows, but they are flimsy if not appropriately handled.

Thus, if you want to play a melee class but prefer to sit and take some damage rather than constantly dodging and moving around your enemy, your best bet is to stick with Warriors.

7. Witches are hilarious and powerful but more challenging to play.

This ranged DPS has a great variety of spells. It can deal massive area of effect damage, tons of damage, and will work incredibly well throughout PvE content, even if you're playing solo.

The amount of damage and area of effect daze you have makes this advanced class a worthy opponent.

It's also great in the game's latter stages for things like dungeons, raids, and PvP. This class is harder to understand and master, so keep that in mind before choosing it.

Here are our seven tips for new Lost Ark players, which will ensure a much more fun starting experience and save you the frustration of choosing an overly tricky class.

The rest is up to you, so head there and make yourself an adventure worth remembering. Only you can make the game much more fun than it already is.
